In this strategic and highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to work in a changing and collaborative environment where you can influence and positively impact the organization through your highly significant contributions. You will help deliver on NOVA Chemicals corporate growth strategy by focusing on the success of the company’s existing European customers as well as developing and closing new, high-value business, fully aligned with NOVA’s Export strategy and execution plan. This business-critical role serves as the focal point for negotiating, managing, developing, and growing the sales of Polyethylene resins to target accounts in the European region.

This unique and exciting career opportunity is home-based in Switzerland and will report directly to the Sales Leader - Exports.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Develop new, sustainable high value business promoting NOVA Chemicals’ portfolio of high-performance Polyethylene resins to leading flexible and rigid-packaging converters in Europe.
Work closely with the Market Managers, Pricing, Technical Service, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Customer Experience, Logistics, Export Manager and Planning to seamlessly execute the export plan.
Apply value-selling skills to negotiate and close strategic supply agreements with target accounts.
Research and analyze market data and customer information. Proactively identify and accurately describe business threats and opportunities based on business intelligence/market dynamics and initiate action to address them internally.
Execute account plans, pre-call plans, and call reports to align with key stakeholders (Sales Leaders, Market Managers, Technical Service, Pricing & Market Development, Customer Experience, Operations and Logistics).
Demonstrate effective safety leadership to all external customers as well as internally throughout the NOVA Chemicals organization.
Accountable for all NOVA polyethylene sales in the European region including coordination with distributors and channels aligned with the export business strategy.
Act like an owner; make team-focused decisions that will positively impact the P&L results, marketing, and sales leadership – in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Have the ability to see the whole picture and have the business acumen needed to probe for verifiable information and facts.
Work well under pressure in rapidly changing market conditions, while at the same time strengthening relationships with key partners, regardless of the outcome of the negotiation.
Inform, educate and champion key European market learnings/insights and gain support for future Export strategy recommendations.

What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a university graduate with 10+ years of industry related experience and continued professional development (6+ years market facing industry-related experience preferred), with a technical background in Polyethylene resins in high-value packaging applications as well as international experience.
Excellent communication skills, both externally and internally, with a strong customer orientation – proactively provide information and confirm sales terms, follow up on issues, professionally communicate market dynamics and company position on a regular basis.
Possesses a substantial understanding of international PE markets, products, applications (including end use markets), sustainability trends and other factors that influence company performance.
Comfortable in a remote working environment.
Ability to communicate effectively during daily interactions as well as in adverse conditions.
Fluent in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Strong analytical skills – ability to compile and comprehend aggregate data and translate that into how best to manage specific accounts; ability to understand variables that impact price, profit, and production.
Value-selling negotiation and closing skills – negotiating terms and conditions that balance the needs of the customer with the needs of the organization, delivering on high value growth business for NOVA.
Skilled at decision making and understanding the impacts of variables to the business.

Relocation will be considered for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires travel (50% or more), mostly throughout Western Europe, but also including the United States and Canada for internal meetings as needed.
